History of Nightmare on 190
Nightmare on 190 was first created in October 2019 by Marty Spells and Matt Roach. The two worked together on a successful haunted trail in Valdosta, GA for many years until Marty retired and became the Assistant Park Manager at FDR State Park in Pine Mountain, GA. While touring the park, he came across a building which the State no longer used regularly, secluded in the deep, dark backwoods of Pine Mountain. The eerie building in the middle of nowhere down highway 190 had many "ghost stories" told of it, from the time it was in use, deep down to the land on which it sits. To this day, Marty tells of the eerie feeling he got the very first time he visited this secluded building and the feeling that still comes over him when he walks its dark hallways. That eerie feeling provided enough inspiration that he reached out to his old haunted trail partner Matt with the desire to create an epic haunted destination!

With only limited time and an even more limited budget, Marty and Matt worked to develop a one-of-a-kind haunted experience that no one would forget, and everyone would talk about year after year. The first year, 2019, was a much bigger success than even Marty and Matt had expected, drawing in over 1700 people in only 6 nights!!!

There is no shortage of inspiration when it comes to the feeling that this building gives all those who wander its dark halls. Marty and Matt both have told stories of working many days and nights and hearing strange noises and strange voices, knowing no one else was there. Others have told stories of hearing voices and seeing apparitions and things moving inexplicably on their own. Although some of this haunted experience is created, there are many who believe there are real spirits roaming the hallways of Nightmare on 190. Skeptic? Ask to be let through the building, by yourself with only the dim emergency lights to guide your path. Once you reach the end, you yourself may have a story to tell!

Nightmare on 190 has now grown to not one, not two, but three great haunted experiences in one. The main haunted attraction takes place each and every October, on Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm-12am. Make your plans to come enjoy one of the best haunted houses you'll ever walk through!

Oh, and one last thing....of the 1700 people that came through the inaugural year, and the many who attended in 2021, many were unable to even make it past the first two rooms without tapping out. There were some that purchased tickets and didn't even enter before walking away. Do you think you have what it takes to make it all the way through? Come find out!
